8/31/05

It is an Incomprehensible Night
that allows me to sit here and type
While others wait in the dark, dirty water
Hungry for home, drenched and parched by the
Flood that swept their city, dreams, belongings

Lost, calling or solemnly waiting for the dawn of
A new Arousal that may Never come
As others Float by or lay Trapped and Lifeless under
The Rubble of their Homes

Where, in the world, there is always a great suffering-
One so Large has never called upon the Doorstep
of America
The Land of Promises Fulfilled-
So near, yet so far -
I watch from my Kitchen on TV
with dinner and my Son at my Side

Reminded that Love, Hope, and Faith
Outweigh all other values and valuables
That we may strive to acquire in this short
Life.
